Kami menyediakan kursus di rumah ataupun privat khusus untuk TOEFL dengan IELTS di daerah sekitaran Makassar dengan Gowa. Diajar oleh lulusan S2 luar negeri (The University of Edinburgh, UK) dengan skor IELTS overall band 7.5 (sebelum studi luar negeri). Telah berpengalaman dalam mengajar IELTS maupun TOEFL, dengan sedia mengajar di beberapa kursusan di Makassar dengan juga di pusat bahasa beberapa kampus di Makassar yg menyediakan kelas IELTS dengan TOEFL preparation class.

Untuk privat IELTS, tingkat (level) kelas terbagi ke dalam 3 jenis.

1. IELTS Intermediate (34.5 hours)
Kelas ini diperuntukkan untuk pelajar yg band skor IELTS terakhir yakni 4 - 5 (overall). Penentuan nilai skor awal, bagi yg belum pernah mengambil tes IELTS asli ataupun tidak mempunyai sertifikat IELTS terakhir dalam 2 tahun, maka mau diberi pre-test terlebih dahulu. 
Setelah selesai dengan kelas ini, siswa ditargetkan sedia mampu mendapatkan nilai minimal 5.5 (akan diadakan post test), yg mana kemudian dipersiapkan untuk kelas level berikutnya yaitu IELTS Upper Intermediate. Level ini didesain untuk pembelajaran selama 34,5 jam ataupun selama 23 meeting. 

2. IELTS Upper Intermediate (31.5 hours)
Kelas ini didesain untuk pelajar yg skor IELTS terakhirnya (maksimal 2 tahun) yakni band 5.5 - 6.0. Siswa yg sedia menyelesaikan kelas ini diharapkan bisa mencapai skor 6.5 hingga 7. Kelas ini berlangsung selama 21 meeting ataupun dalam waktu 31,5 jam. 

2. IELTS Upper Intermediate Plus (31.5 hours)
Kelas ini didesain untuk pelajar yg skor IELTS terakhirnya (maksimal 2 tahun) yakni minimal band 6.0. Target skor kelas ini yakni 6.5 hingga 7.5. Kelas ini berlangsung selama 21 meeting ataupun dalam waktu 31,5 jam. 

3. Elective Skill 
Kelas ini ditujukan kepada pelajar yg ingin fokus terhadap skill tertentu. Misalkan, seorang siswa memiliki skor Speaking dengan Listening tinggi namun lemah terhadap Reading dengan Writing, maka boleh belajar dengan khusus fokus terhadap skill yg lemah tersebut. Mengenai jam, disesuaikan dengan band skor siswa. 

Untuk privat TOEFL, tingkat (level) kelas terbagi ke dalam 2. 

1. TOEFL Intermediate (34.5 hours)
Bagi yg skor TOEFL sekitar 450 - 475 maka mesti mengikuti kelas ini. Target skor untuk kelas ini yakni 500 sampai dengan 525. Kelas ini didesain untuk pembelajaran selama 34.5 jam (23 meeting). 

2. TOEFL Upper Intermediate
Kelas ini diperuntukkan untuk yg memiliki skor IELTS 500 - 547. Target skor untuk kelas ini yakni 550 hingga 575. 550 merupakan minimal skor yg umum digunakan untuk pendafataran beasiswa S2 (Master`s) untuk luar negeri, sementara 575 yakni untuk tingkat Doktor (S3). 


Biaya Les Privat 

Maksimum jumlah siswa yakni 3 orang dengan biaya kelas berikut (khusus IELTS). Untuk TOEFL, biaya berikut diperuntukkan maksimum 2 orang, sekiranya siswa ada 3, maka biaya les untuk TOEFL Intermediate yakni Rp 3.450.000,- dengan untuk TOEFL Upper Intermediate Rp 3.150.000,-

Handbook

Skill 4: Tariklah sebuah kesimpulan terkait Who, What, dengan Where

1.       Tariklah sebuah kesimpulan terkait Who (siapa)
Hal yg umum dalam tes TOEFL Listening Part A meminta Anda untuk menarik beberapa bentuk kesimpulan. Tipe pertanyaan ini, jawaban tidak dinyatakan dengan jelas. Olehnya Anda harus menarik sebuah kesimpulan berdasarkan petunjuk yg diberikan di percakapan. Salah satu tipe yg umum dalam ditanyakan yaitu terkait “siapa yg berbicara (who the speaker is), berdasarkan petunjuk yg diberikan di percakapan.

Example:
On the recording, you hear:
   (woman)     Can you tell me what assignment I missed when I was absent from your class?
   (man)          You missed one homework assignment and a quiz.
   (narrator)    Who is the man?

In your test book, you read:
(A)    A newspaper editor.
(B)   A police officer.
(C)   A teacher.
(D)   A student.


Kata kunci seperti class, homework, dengan quiz dalam percakapan memberitahu bahwa beringsang pemuda laki itu kemungkinannya adalah seorang guru. Olehnya jawaban yg benar yaitu (C).

2.       Tariklah sebuah kesimpulan terkait What (apa)
Jenis lain yg umum dalam tes TOEFL Listening Part A meminta Anda untuk menentukan apa yg bakal terjadi selanjutnya, berdasarkan petunjuk ataupun kata-kata kunci dalam percakapan.

 Example:
On the recording, you hear:
   (woman)     Are you going to read those books here in the library?
   (man)          I think I’d rather check them out now and take them home.
   (narrator)    What will the man probably do next?

In your test book, you read:
(A)    Sit down in the library.
(B)   Look for some more books.
(C)   Return the books to the shelves.
(D)   Go to the circulation desk.

Laki-laki itu berkata bahwa dia ingin meminjam buku-buku itu sekarang (check the books out now).  Karena circulation desk merupakan tempat untuk meminjam buku dari perpustakaan, laki-laki tersebut kemungkinan selanjutnya bakal pergi ke circulation desk. Olehnnya jawaban yg benar yaitu (D).

3.       Tariklah sebuah kesimpulan terkait Where (di mana)
Jenis lain yg umum dalam tes TOEFL Listening Part A meminta Anda untuk menentukan di mana percakapan sedang berlangsung, berdasarkan petunjuk ataupun kata-kata kunci dalam percakapan.

 Example:
On the recording, you hear:
  (woman)       Are you going into the water, or are you just going to lie there on the sand?
  (man)            I think I need to put on some suntan lotion.
  (narrator)      Where does the conversation probably take place?

In your test book, you read:
(A)    At the beauty salon.
(B)   At the beach.
(C)   In a sandbox.
(D)   At an outdoor restaurant.

Kata-kunci ataupun petunjuknya terletak dengan kata water, sand, dengan suntan lotion. Dari kata-kata tersebut bisa kita tarik kesimpuan bahwa tempat percakapan ini berlangsung di pantai (at the beach). Olehnya jawaban yg benar yaitu (B).

Belajar Listening Toefl 1

Skill 1: Focus on the second line

Dalam listening part A kamu mau mendengar sebuah percakapan pendek antar dua orang; percakapan ini diikuti satu pertanyaan. Perlu diketahui bahwa jawaban jenis pertanyaan ini paling sering (tapi tidak selamanya!) ditemukan di baris ke dua dari percakapan.

Example:
On th recording, you hear:
Di rekaman, kamu mendengar:

(man)          Billy really made a big mistake this time.
(woman)    Yes, he forgot to turn in his research paper.
(narrator)    What does the woman say about Billy?

In your test book, you read:
Di buku tes kamu, kamu membaca:

(A) It was the first time he made a mistake.
(B) He forgot to write his paper.
(C) He turned in the paper in the wrong place.
(D) He didn’t remember to submit his assignment.

Pilihan jawaban (D) memilki makna yg sama dengan baris ke dua dari percakapan di atas. Maka jawaban yg paling tepat adalah (D).

Strategi yg perlu diketahui dalam Listening Part A (Skill 1):
1.       Baris ke dua dari percakapan kemungkinan berisi jawaban dari soal.2.       Menyimak dengan memahami  baris pertama dengan percakapan merupakan hal yg baik, tapi semisal tidak becus memahami, jangan khawatir karena baris pertama kemungkinan tidak mengandung jawaban dari soal.3.       Bersiaplah untuk fokus dengan baris ke dua dari percakapan karena kemungkinan di situlah jawaban dari soal. Teruslah mengingat isi dari makna baris ke dua sambil mencocokkan pilihan jawaban yg tersedia.

Exercise: Exercise di bawah ini, kamu harus fokus dengan baris ke dua, baca pertanyaannya, dengan pilih jawaban terbaik. Ingatlah bahwa kemungkinan soal becus dijawab dengan meriang encer hanya dengan baris ke dua.

Tips Menjawab Soal Listening TOEFL Skill 6

Skill 6: Listen for Who And What in Passives (Perhatikan Siapa dan Apa dalam kalimat pasif)

Ketika dalam satu kalimat terdapat lebih dari satu kata benda (noun) dalam sesi Litening Part A, umumnya bagi membingungkan siapa (kata benda mana) yg melakukan apa.

Example:

On the recording, you hear:

(man)      : Do you know who is in the band now?
(woman) : I heard that Mara replaced Robert in the band.
(narrator): What does the woman say about the band?

In your test book, you read:

(A)  Robert became a new member of the band
(B)  Robert took Mara's place in the band.
(C) Mara didn't have a place in the band.
(D) Mara took Robert's place in the band.

Pada respon / jawaban si pembicara perempuan terhadap pertanyaan si pembicara laki-laki, perempuan itu membicarakan tentang dua orang (Mara bersama Robert), bersama ke dua subjek ini bisa saja bagi menjadi hal yg membingungkan terhadap jawaban. Karena Mara replaced Robert (Mara menggantikan posisi Robert), ini berarti Mara sekarang yg ada di band bersama Robert tidak lagi. Olehnya jawaban paling tepat yaitu jawaban D.

Skill 2: Pilihlah jawaban dengan synonym

Seringkali jawaban yg benar dengan Listening Part A merupakan jawaban yg berisikan sinonim (persamaan kata yg mempunyai cara pengucapan berbeda) dengan kata-kata kunci dari percakapan.

Example:
On the recording, you hear:
(woman) Why is Barbara feeling so happy?
(man) she just started working in a real estate agency.
(narratator)  What does the man say about Barbara?

In your test book, you read:
(A) She always liked her work in real estate.
(B) She began a new job.
(C) She just bought some real estae.
(D) She bought a real estate agency.
Dalam percakpan: kata kunci started sinonim dengan began, bersama kata kuci working bersinonim dengan job. Jadi, pilihan paling tepat yaitu jawaban (B).

Strategi menghadapi Listening Part A (skill 2): 
     1.       Ketika sedang mendengar baris ke dua dari percakapan, fokuslah dengan kata-kata kunci dengan baris tersebut.
2.       Jika melihat ada bentuk sinonim di pilihann dari kata kunci baris ke dua, kemunkinan besar itulah jawabannya.

Exercise: Exercise di bawah ini, kamu harus fokus dengan baris ke dua, baca pertanyaannya, bersama pilih jawaban terbaik. Garis bawahi baris ke dua dari percakapan bersama temukan sinonim –sinonim nya di pilihan jawaban. Ingatlah bahwa kemungkinan jawaban yg benar berisi sinonim-sinonim dari baris ke dua percakapan.

Skill 3: Hindari Bunyi Kata yg Mirip
Seringkali jawaban yg salah dalam Listening Part A merupakan kata-kata yg bunyi pengucapannya mirip tapi tentu saja maknanya berbeda. Anda harus betul-betul menghindari jawaban seperti ini.

Example/contoh:

On the recording, you hear:
Man                             Why couldn’t Mark come with us?
(Woman)                     He was searching for a new apartment.
(narrator)                     What does the woman say about Mark?

In your test book, you read:
(A)             He was in the department office.
(B)              He was looking for a place to live
(C)              He was working on his research paper.
(D)             He had an appointment at church.

Kata kunci kepada baris ke dua adalah searching dan apartment. Pada jawaban (C) beserta (D), kata research beserta church berbunyi mirip dengan kata search, jadi ke dua jawaban ini salah. Pada jawaban (A) beserta (D), kata department beserta appointment berbunyi mirip dengan kata apartment, jadi jawaban ini salah. Olehnya, jawaban paling tepat yaitu (B).

Strategi menghadapi Listening Part A (skill 3):
1.      Identifikasi kata-kata kunci kepada baris ke dua percakapan.
2.      Identifikasi kata-kata kunci di jawaban yg cara pengucapannya mirip beserta jangan pilih jawaban-jawaban tersebut.

Exercise: di latihan soal ini, temukan beserta garis bawahi kata kunci kepada dari baris ke dua percakapan Kemudian garis bawahi kata-kata yg bunyi pengucapannya mirip beserta pilihlah jawaban paling tepat. Ingat bahwa kemungkinan besar jawaba yg benar yaitu jawaban yg tidak berisi kata yg bunyi pengucapannya mirip dengan baris ke dua percakapan.

1. (Woman)    : I heard that Sally just moved into a new, big  house near  the beach.
    (Man)         : But, Sally doesn't have a cent!
    (Narrator)  : What does the man mean?

    (A) Sally has no sense of responsibility
    (B) Sally sent her friend to the house.
    (C) Sally has no money
    (D) Sally is on the set with her.

2. (woman    : Di they get the news over they wanted?
    (Man)       : No. They lacked the money.
    (Narrator) : What does the woman mean?

   (A) They locked the map in a car
   (B) They looked many times in the car
   (C) It cost a lot of money when the car leaked oil
   (D) They didn't have enough money to buy another car

3.  (Man)    : Have you finished packing yet?
   (Woman) : You should call the porter to get the suitcases.
   (Narrator) : What does the woman mean?

   (A) it's important to pack the suitcases
   (B) They need help carrying their bags
   (C) The man should pack his suit in case he needs it
   (D) The suitcases are quite portable
